Windows Ink update lets users write anywhere they can type

Microsoft's latest Windows 11 insider preview build includes an update to Windows Ink that lets users handwrite entries directly into fields across the operating system.

Before the update, handwriting entries only worked in specific software, such as OneNote or dedicated handwritten text recognition fields.

Windows barely functions as a touch screen OS. On Android and IOS, if you click on a text field in any application, the keyboard comes up to type. On Windows, this only happens on the modern UI apps, so you have to open the keyboard manually.

Maybe they should get basic keyboards working before trying something like this.
