Microsoft to launch OneApp in SA

Microsoft on Monday unveiled software that lets Twitter, Facebook and other hot Internet services be delivered to low-cost "feature phones" common in developing countries.

So who's going to tell these people what Twitter and Facebook are ...

Ja, thought so!!

not enough information really. i heard the same story on 702 this morning. they were all excited about it. probably because the words "microsoft", "south africa" and "first time" were all in the same sentence. what hardware and os is it made for? will they supplement data costs? are they aiming to provide something useful for a buck in bandwidth spent, which mxit actually offers?

they say low cost feature phones . low cost feature phones dont run winm0

It's a JME based application (called Mibli, which you can download)... it didn't exactly do too well (not very useful I guess).
