I make a living from Microsoft products, and a damned good one at that. So I won't slam MS. Besides, if no MS, would any of the other products out there (Linux etc...) be as good as they are?

I just wonder what the response of our mainstream AV companies will be with MS released a no-cost product like this. Sure to be some anti-competition law suits popping up.

Nope, just that if there was no competition, there would not be any other good products out there.

I wouldn't trust Microsoft to protect my PC from Internet threats. They have released a few applications (MS Antispyware, Windows Defender, WL 1-Care) and none of those are/were even remotely capable of providing solid protection.

this still remains sad..Microsoft should refrain form thinking "secure" seriously you'll end up just finding massive random red splashes against microsofts walls if they try keep this up cause their heads will literally explode! My point is Microsoft is incapable of security and should stick to the only thing they do proper aka xbox.
