Microsoft Unveils Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2

I hope they have standard CSS implementation, because the differences in Firefox and how IE interprets CSS is giving me a headache. Where a web page would take a few hours to design and implement, it literally takes us days just because IE doesn't "follow the rules"

Ive had it for a while. Its pretty cool and stable. Only thing that REALLY gets to me is the missing history. So after visiting 5 pages, you click back and it jumps to the first one you visited...and do what you like the pages you visited between them are GONE.

Depends what your doing and if you avoid the typical pitfalls.

I've found no problems with firefox and ie6+ of you stick closely to the WC3 guidelines, ie5+ however is a total mare, simply because it has padding/border/margin the wrong way around, putting it on the outside of elements instead of the inside.

If you need any pointers, drop me a PM with a layout your working on and I'll see what I can help you with - doing this day in and day out as part of my job, so I've picked up a lot of nifty tricks.

I've been using Firefox for the past two years (before that I was using the Mozilla browser). I installed IE7 beta a few weeks ago out of curiosity. Microsoft has simply introduced features that I have already become used to in Firefox. Should I switch to IE7? No, IE's new interface is ugly and it offers me nothing that I don't already get in Firefox. Firefox has a much cleaner user interface. I also like the plug-ins that are available for it and I trust it more from a security perspective than I do IE. I'm sticking with Firefox.

wouldn't touch it.

Lots of Windows programs use the IE HTML Webbrowser component to view webpages or HTML files ... I would upgrade even if I did not use IE 7 for browsing just for additional security.
