Microsoft updates, trims .NET

Installed it at home last night and busy installing it on my work machine atm. Can't wait for it to be installed as C# has some improvement made to it.

I can't wait for the release of Rossario though...

Sevice pack after service pack after service pack. As long as they [try to] make M$ stuff better, it's okay I reckon.

Yes, it's not like Ubuntu downloads updates three times a week.

Three times a week? I updated Ubuntu on the 1st. Not a single update available again since (and I do have a lot of applications installed)...

Ubuntu updates are updates for ALL the applications on your computer. You can't compare Ubuntu update to Windows update - they are totally different. If you want to compare them, then compare kernel updates versus Windows updates... that's more realistic. And don't forget the distinction between a bugfix update and a new feature update. Service packs are mostly bug fixes.

The .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 includes several improvements to the common language runtime, such as the ability to generate managed code that improves application startup time by 20% to 45% and end-to-end application execution time up to 10%, Microsoft said yesterday.

What they probably meant was the ability to generate UNMANAGED code to improve application start-up. The managed code already exists - it was generated by the compiler :-)
