Tabbed browsing?

They where the last browser on the market to feature it and now they want to claim it as their invention?

as well as patents on selecting a tab in a tabbed browser window, splitting software downloads into smaller parts, and selecting view modes and settings on a PC

Ok, so I'm gonna patent breathing ... you owe me buddy!

Cipro, however, is a non-examining patent office which means that patents are not tested for validity before being accepted but only that the correct process has been followed and that the payments have been made.

Invalid perhaps but paid for properly!

perhaps Telkom can get a patent for the slowest ADSL service... or should we rather contact guinness world records?

wtf?? these are things other smaller companies did in often free software too.

Despite patent legislation which precludes software from being patented in South Africa, Microsoft now holds more than 300 local patents

If it's against the law, then surely this is FRAUD?

Prior art.

Segmental downloading has also been done before - GetRight has been doing it back in 1996.

Just an aside: inventing someting doesn't mean you have to be the first to implement it in a generally available product. Just ask Apple.

ROFL!
Big bad evil giant put freaking lazers on the sharks heads and chopped off it's own toes.
I really despise this company's ethics.
