MIFI modem Advice

Hi Guys,

alot of the threads on here are a bit old. I am in the market for 1 of those portable wifi devices. something with a decent battery life, and that can support any network.


any advice would be appreciated

well i am currently using Afrihost VPN via MTN so it should at least support MTN

The problem with them is batteries. I've had 2 Huawei 3G & LTE & 1 ZTE devices and about 1 year later the batteries just give up, and it lasts about 1 hour. And you just can't find replacements short of those no-name .cn ones that are fire hazards of note and barely last a few weeks.

So whatever you do buy, don't expect many years of usage out of it.

Get an external power bank and leave it plugged in all the time , huge run time then.

Rather get a cheap LTE phone that can be setup as using its hotspot.
