I've had one since sat night and it's taking it's toll now. Have to wait til 7am before I can get a migraine injection frm our dr. Wtf can I do in the meantime. I've had tensodols, genpaynes, panados, you name it. Even had my usual lavender and peppermint essential oil roll on but no dice. I think the meds are now rebounding urgh. Any ideas?

Can your local emergency room not give you an injection?

When I had a migraine I went the local pharmacy and asked for a voltaren injection...put me to sleep within 30min and felt supercharged when I woke up after 2hrs.

Cluster headaches are something else all together and a rather rare occurrence in fact. Take schrooms in small doses.

Migraines can be treated with regular intake of Trepeline prescribed by your doctor.

Over the counter Voltarin injections from the pharmacy are your best bet.

They are all closed. Will hang in there til 7am. Thx guys.

And you can look at a screen to type!!

And you can spell!

Try a hot bath or a beanbag against your head. Yoga breathing. 5 seconds in 5 out longer if you can. Turn off the light. Stop staring at the computer.

Hot compresses did the trick. Gone for now *touch wood*

I also get migraines with an aura (not nearly as frequently anymore thank heavens). My neurologist explained to me that your esophageal valve shuts during a migraine. So any pills you take will not reach your stomach and will not be absorbed. The solution is to take something like Motilium (or anything that prevents nausea) when you feel the migraine coming and then you can take the pain medication. This has worked for me.

Be careful of getting to many pain injections : you may get addicted. This happened to a family member who had daily migraines for years until she saw a neurologist who weaned her from the injections.

Very interesting. I often feel that painkillers I take for migraine do nothing. Including stuff like tramacet.

Mybulens work for me...

If it isn't getting absorbed through your stomach, maybe try suppositories. Just don't get addicted.

Tramacet does nothing for me. I usually have a stock of migraine kits on hand but I find once the migraine kicks in it doesn't work. Have to take it when you feel the first twinge. Zomig works well but at R100 a pill its not an every day option. I feel better today finally. Didn't go for the injection just kept applying heat bean bag packs.

Whats in your migraine kits btw? Mine are 2 acdodols/tensodols. 2 inza 400 (these days they substitute that with a generic ibuprofen) and a menograine.

Works so well. I used to grow shooting stars and would give small dried doses to friends with migraines or insomnia. Miracle stuff! Pity it's illegal.

I still find something like Syndol to be the most effective, mainly because it makes me sleepy. So I take 3 and then go sleep for as long as possible.

Have you tried a benzo drug? They relax your body which may be a possible cause. You would to speak to your doctor and perhaps try something like bromazapan. Check 40 bucks for 30. Not saying it will work but it will relax your body.

Other than that i don't know of anything that will help, go to the migraine clinic because something that has been mentioned here should have helped.

I suffer from from Cluster Headaches and have been chronic for almost 2 years. The monster attacks me at least 3 times a night. I take Migrex to bust and am on a whole regime of other meds. I wish I knew where to get shrooms from as they talk about them a lot on the Cluster website and seem to have helped hundreds of sufferers.
