Migraines

Migraine headaches are rarely a symptom of brain cancer or aneurysm. The more obvious effects are disorientation and memory loss.

A big contributing factor towards migraines is actually dairy products and chocolate believe it or not.

I knew someone who couldn't eat chocolate due to the severe migraines he got.

Doctor suspects I might have malaria

Lab results will be in by this afternoon.

Damn malaria. That is nasty.

Maybe it's just tick bite fever. Check for bites

dont ever get migraines, but when i've smoked to much in a day i get a fat 5pm headache.

i suffer badly with migraines. i had encephalitis in 1992 which is the result of my migraines. i am on a tablet called topomax which controls them. if i don't take them the migraines just come on like you cannot believe. i ran out of my meds last monday and by friday i was dying lol. only got my script today so it's going to take about 2 to 3 days for the meds to kick in.

Ouch, that's terrible. Sorry that you have to suffer through that :(

My lab results are back - it's not malaria. Got a prescription of Voltaren and Trepiline, so we'll see how it goes.

Seriously did you check for tick bites ffs.

Dehydration can cause headaches, but migraines are different. It's far more than just a bad headache.

Caffeine can help with a migraine.

In my case heat can trigger them and taking immediate action by going to somewhere cool can avert it before the headache itself actually kicks in.

How many people here who get migraines get the other symptoms like changes to your visual field, nausea, hypersensitivity to light and sound? For me the visual disturbances always come sometime before the headache kicks in, so I have chance to take action.

If you are using a CRT monitor, make sure the refresh rate is set to 75Hz or higher. I found that anything lower usually triggers a migraine for me. The same goes for CRT televisions that have some kind of issue which causes it to have a noticeable flicker.
That would be the majority of CRT TVs. They're all 50Hz.
