Howzit,

How has Telkom been able to justify the fact that they charge a fee to enable ADSL and a fee to disable ADSL? It is sort of understandable for an installation fee but a fee to remove something that you don't want? If I disable my phoneline totally i don't pay this fee but if i move from a ADSL line to a normal phone line I do.

It is also unclear what cost is incurred by Telkom in this change. There is no callout to the customer premises. The only change that may occur is at the exchange and any linecard that has been set up on my line would then be used on another customer that is waiting for ADSL.

Is there really a fee to cancel adsl?

The only fees I was aware of were either for reducing your line speed or for the early termination of a contract (if you opted for that route).

How much is the cancellation fee anyway?

Uhm - that's done electronicly. Someone presses a button on a computer, and your DSL is disabled.

Who's the stupid idiot at Telkom that came up with this idea now??? LOL. Pay to install, Pay through your ears to use, but wait, there's more... Pay when you cancell as well :)

Gotta love it

What a bunch of tossers.

lol why would you want to cancel a adsl line? do you know that some people would give their left ball to get telkom to put their lines IN? i mean some people reported waiting over 12 months and then you want to stop yours???? ARE YOU INSANE?? it adds like 10% to the value of your house! you can tell your grand children about it one day!! seriously reconsider!! :)

Tell them you're moving to Pofadder and when can you get your ADSL.
Helpdesk: erm, humm, eish, jawelnofine...

ja tell them to either move it or cancel it. then they wont charge you to cancel it :D

If you cancel and re apply it will work out more or less the same...only Telkom wins...
