Mikrotik RouterOS upgrade

that is correct all routerboards use the same rb500 packages...
it is just if you load it onto a PC that you must use the other package

Far from bricked, but after upgrading the OS, the wireless package has vanished, I downloaded the crd, and normal versions, I tried uploading both files, and rebooting, nothing installs.

What gives?

Yup! This day job is getting too uncreative!

You need to enable the RB to 'boot from ethernet then NAND'

If the routerboard boots up fully and you have IP access, you can use Terraterm or telnet to log in to it.

At the command prompt, type:
system routerboard settings set boot-device=try-ethernet-then-nand

If you don't have IP access, you're going to have to find a serial null-modem cable and use Hyperterminal or Terraterm to connect at boot up. There is a BIOS boot menu that will give you options to select the boot device.

Try uploading one file, reboot. Then the same for the next file.

Odly enough - I tried that too. No luck.

The log after a reboot states:
system, error cannot install wireless2.9.49: it is not made for mipsel, but for i386
So clearly I have the PC version, why is it listed under the Routerboard 100 Series downloads then...
