Mindmapping software?

Anybody here use, or know of any good 'mind-mapping' software?
I'm not really sure what it does, or supposed to do... the kids in school are starting to use 'mindmapping', I was asked what/if there are software to help with that.
In my day we didn't need it (!) , but I guess in today's schools they need help in structuring their thoughts

There's Mind Manager from Mindjet (http://www.mindjet.com/), but it's not free (nor is it cheap.)
I'm sure google will give you some more options ...

Freemind is the leading open-source mind mapping tool

I use it sometimes in software design. The fact that you can quickly create mind maps because you can just use keyboard shortcuts is the great thing I love about it.

excel or visio will do the trick, not free i know.

There's some books about it, written by Tony Buzan.
Easy to find in Exclusive books.

Or u can do a usenet search and download them...
