i take it you just dl it n pay for the alpha n bam shazam you can go ahead n do stuffs?! im hooked n i havent even got it yet!

alpha costs $9 AFAIK, classic is free and looks like you have to play online.

I'd like to start this thread off with saying that firstly, yes, we have our own little slice of block heaven; we have a Minecraft Alpha server running at:

Not sure if that is a WA only thing, but as people has mentioned this game is making headlines. Dont' be fooled by the graphics, Minecraft is kinda like LEGO [the actual real block building thing] and definitely appeals to that type of crowd.

What people seem to miss when they watch the youtube vids is that this is not a game, it's a "world builder" . The idea is to do anything, build anything.... (well there are game modes, but you actually build yourself out of or into those ;))

Wow awesome. Is there a point to the game or do you just build stuff forever?

ell some servers have RP, there tones to build tho, and you can make circuits (one guy is building a PC in minecraft)

thats called geifing AFAIK, and on a majority of serves its illegal.

Well the game have "mechanics" too, so it's not static buildings and structures. For instance i built a little pyramid on the ice covered sea and then i started putting up torches [for light] and the ice started melting! So basically i drowned [you got a healthbar too] under my own pyramid...talk about building your own tomb ;) .

Anyway, i suppose you can basically make a "Second Life" deal out of this. And yea, people can break other people's stuff , i'm sure there is security settings somewhere, but the point is to build something together [like that Starship Enterprise] so you will need to build and break other people's stuff at some point.

So chances are you might be able to "build" a server-world to be some sort of game to others .

I think the people on the WA server should consider building a Deathstar ;)

Hey guys, anyone playing this? I'm considering buying it for the Online modes - but I'm not sure whether the servers are good?

Maybe you should have brought it when was half price almost 2 years ago? Yes it is an awesome game and online is well worth it if you find a good community. You are late to the party but welcome none the less.
