Mini Cooper service costs expensive?

Runs a classic mini workshop in the east rand. Have taken a few of my classic mins to him over the years. Last work he did for me totaled over R30K. Have never had an issue with him ever. Yes he's slow. Yes the workshop isn't spik and span... As for him abusing substances and wada wada wada... Couldnt tell you. Not one part on any of my cars ever lost a nut or bolt. And I know that because they were classic minis. You tighten them often :D

He's the reason I got a 1275e for a steal, they screwed up a clutch install and destroyed the gearbox, I bought the car for next to nothing

I really need to start checking the post dates on threads. Dammit!

So who the F is this Hankey guy?

Loser screwing people over with old/new Mini's- BIG TIME I unfortunately to come across people that he had stolen amplifier out another that he returned the car in such a mess- only mini dealership could mend it
Most shocking is that he removes your good parts with bad ones! Surprised he's not in jail by now or shut down has a website advertising all kinds of services doesn't even own a diagnostic machine ..learnt my lesson

Thats bs, I've been using Tommy for 21 years, and before him, Martin at Mr Mini, which Tommy worked for. He is the most honest person I know and a great mechanic

One of my friends has a workshop in Pretoria. A Client brought a mini cooper to him ( non turbo). Engine failure. The cost to fix the engine at the dealership would have costed more than they paid for the car. Even if my mate did the repair with oem parts, the mini parts are so expensive it would still cost an arm and a leg. So they ended up replacing the engine with a second hand unit. Think the engine alone was R30 000.
