Hi.
I'm trying to build an HTPC and I am looking at Mini-ITX boards and processors.
Only thing is that I don't know what would be powerful enough to decode HD videos.

I looked at the Intel Atom (Little Falls) boards but after some searching found that these won't be powerful enough. The Nvidia Ion platform boards are, but I can't find any local suppliers that sell them separately.

So now I'm trying to find other brands with the same form factor and I'm not sure what kind of processors would be sufficient. I'm aslo trying not to break the bank since I can get a Mede8er MED-500X for R1900.

I'm prepared to go over that price a bit since a proper PC is is much better.
I'd also prefer to get an AMD.

Anyone got any experience with PCs in this form factor?

I have the Nvida ION-A for sale.
Its the N330 Dual Atom CPU with Wireless Lan for R2500.

get the mded8er, its the bomb, all the hard work has already been done and its fully integrated with all the features u would add to an HTPC. Why reinvent the wheel?

Has any one seen this board for sale anywhere locally?

AMD 780G mini-ITX

I'm seriously considering the mede8er, but I also like tinkering, so humor me :)

ah ok, so then get both, tinker away with the bits of the htpc and use the mede8er for when u actually need to watch something :)
