Mini One Deal

It sounds to me like you're essentially "renting" the car from them for 54 months, for R2956 per month, for a total spend of R159624 over 4.5years.
And at the end of it, you just "give the car back" without getting anything back? You don't own the car, really, after spending R160k on it? They just take it back and you walk away?

I dunno about that. For an average month count of 30 days, you're essentially paying R98.53 per day to have a car.
You can't sell the car if you decide you want something else - they take it back and they get to sell it and make money off it again.

Lastly, what happens if you have an accident? Sounds like your insurance will have to pay them out for the car, instead of you. And then you're stuck with nothing again.
Or you must come up with the other R109k if you wanna keep it..

That's one helluva large residual, basically. Residual is already bad, in my opinion, and should be avoided.
This residual is about half the original purchase price of the car? Ouch.
And it's conditional - you have to have driven under 80,000kms with the car? Double Ouch.

Agreed, residuals is not the way to go for a private car. As others have said though, if you receive a fixed travel allowance or similar, then there is no reason to go for it.

yes you right , that does not make sense cos for 3000p/m you can drive im sure something around 150k and after 5 years its yours ...for next few years or if you decide to sell ...

Its a loose loose situation but you can bet gays and girls around town are eating this deal up :D

J/K :p

If you are prepared to spend R3k a month on a car, you can get a WHOLE lot more bang for your buck buying something used than you will get spending it on this hollow idol.

What you're paying for here is the privilege of parking it in your garage for a period of time. You're not even allowed to drive more than 80,000kms in 5 years which totally defeats the purpose.
