Minimum pay

People are not meant to survive on minimal wage, your suppose to do better than that in life.

Unfortunately for the vast majority of our population, limited education and skills in addition to poor service delivery means that many are stuck in this cycle of poverty for generations

Yes, and as the rich get richer, there's less money and subsequently a smaller chance (no chance??) for them to get out of the cycle.
I have this hypothesis that money should be kept in circulation, whenever it is being stored, other people suffer... But I'm not yet sure to what extent retirement funds affect this whole idea...

If you did not store money throughout your lifetime and you retire, how exactly would you keep on paying rent/utilities/bills/retirement home?

That's exactly the flaw I see in my hypothesis. I do realize that saving for retirement is crucial!
I'm more concerned about those people worth billions. I know it's not all cash sitting in the bank but I'm sure they have more than enough to retire on...but then again how much is enough?!
