Ok, after morning 3 of being disconnected from 6am onward (I'm at work now), I phoned Sentech.

It seems they have been doing scheduled maintenance from 6am till 9am in the mornings to fix some issues.

I asked if this would be a regular occurance, but apparently not.

Sentech is working to fix the problem of people being dropped by the Mintek, Randburg Metro and I think Hyde Park towers.

I would think from 5am till 8am would be more reasonable, but hey, what do I know !

[:D]

Mweb used to let us know when they do maintanance on a pop and suggest other pops to phone.... but at least one knew

Tad stop being a grumpy old farty :P but yeah i agree with you on letting us know when we will experience no service !!!

ahuh!

i was trying to connect to 12 (Mintek) this morning - got the dreaded "Remote computer did not respond"

and now i can't even find 82, which i used to connect to.

i hope i'm not stuck with 12, 'cos it's as slow as... well... a big, slow... thing...

Wouldn't it be nice if Sentech had a tower status indicator page like this?

Yoda, they'll all be green. As per Sentech :

"There are no problems. Due to contention ratios you are getting the guarranteed minimum speeds. The towers that's down, are due to planned maintenance. Those that can't connect, we don't know what's the problem, but it's definitely not us"

Nice page though, coverage maps are excellent :-)
