Hi,

Just moved house and re-installed my HDPVR & SDPVR. For some reason I only get some channels??
The rest just says searching for signal. I changed the LNB, same problem. Could it be the cables??

Regards,

Brett

Yep, changed the LNB, made no difference! So put the original one back! LNB sits about 4 o'clock.

I have a twin LNB, these go to a Multiswitch providing me with Six Outs. Four go to the HDPVR & Two go to the SDPVR. The voltage on the SDPVR is correct at 13 & 18? If i run the two cables direct from the lnb to the SDPVR same thing. If I swap the cables i get the missing channels but loose the original ones!?!?

If you've already tried another LNB with the same results, one of the two cables to the LNB must be dodgy. That is why you get the missing channels, but lose the original ones, when you change them around... First you had the 12V going up the working one, then you changed them around and the 18V was sent up the working one.

Right, here I go outside and check each cable! Multimeter & Torch at hand...
Will let you know the outcome.

Cheers

Still Checking !!!! Found out that there is a voltage drop on the 13V line! Faulty connector maybe! Will keep you posted, getting cold outside!

Old cable maybe... Rusty connectors, conductor or shield. Shield not making proper contact with f-connector or piece touching centre conductor.

Found the fault. At the LNB was only getting 7V. Traced it back to a rusty F-Connector! The copper core was rusted through! Cut, new F-Connector & hey presto 12V to LNB!

Yay, saved myself a bit of money there!!

Thanks for all your help as now can watch ALL channels! It was driving me crazy!

Hope that this helps anyone who has the same problem! Just basically worked back from the LNB as it was showing 7V. Somebody has put an extension the cable outside and it had gone rusty!!!!

Cheers guys!
