Hi All

After 4 months of frustration, ignored emails to customer support, holding for over half an hour on the customer service line just to give up, going into branches and being told they cant help.. In frustration I sent a steaming mail to ICASA, lambasting them for not protecting the consumer from the degenerate postal service ...

I am happy to report that within an hour I had 3 emails, and my parcels were traced.

So.. Ill just leave this here ... if you are getting nowhere with the post office, try giving ICASA a rev.

Cheers

Jet

Post the mail address you used, maybe everyone waiting for stuff can drop them a line.

I'm waiting for two parcels - one has been sitting at Cape Mail since 2 August, the other got to SA on 25 June and has not yet been scanned in to JIMC.

Useless doesn't even begin to describe it, then they still have the cheek to levy a 'handling' charge.

Massive thanks to the OP. Used [email protected] and after months of no response, I actually got feedback from the post office. I haven't got my parcel yet it's yet to be scanned, but getting some feedback in this long painful experience certainly helps ease the pain.

You're lucky - I sent an email yesterday to the same address, so far not even an acknowledgement of receipt. What was the feedback you got? Backlog?

I did detail how I got zero response from the customer.service emails I sent in my complaint. But within an hour I had two responses from customer.services.

I got this as feedback:
Note kindly that {tackingNum} hasn’t been captured on our delivery network yet and an update will be provided once it is scanned and has a domestic tracking barcode.

We apologize for the delay and an inconvenience caused.

So I guess I'm still in for the long hual here (package posted in June).

Hi all, just got an unsolicited mail from SAPO, with collection info at my local post office, saying it was now ready for collection. All in all, a massively frustrating experience, but ultimately resolved by involving ICASA. If they had only bothered to reply on the SAPO mails .. :)

Which email for the Post Office did you use at first?

They probably found a way to lose those as well.

It is actually amazing that you have to complain to ICASA to get the SAPO to do their jobs.

5 months is the going rate, if you want them to get a move on then send them the invoice so they can tax you for it.

I got a similar response, followed the next day by an apology mail from SAPO.

Maybe if more customers complain to ICASA someone might actually do something about the problem.
