19-year-old Ipeleng Moholane was last seen on Saturday 16 May in Pretoria central.

Moholane was a student at the Midrand Graduate Institute and attended at their Randburg campus.

Her father called into talk radio station 702 for help in finding her. Soon posters went up wtith Ipeleng’s picture, description of what she was wearing and when she was last seen.

10 days after news of her disappearance Crime Line South Africa tweeted that her body had been found in Midrand.

Ipeleng’s body was found yesterday afternoon 25 of May.

“I think the killers killed her yesterday in the morning.” Isaac Moholane, her father, said in a telephonic interview with 702.

Ipeleng is not the first MGI student to go missing and to be later reported dead. In 2013 Philisande Ngum(female also 19) and an MGI student was reported missing and later found dead in a veld near The Boulders Mall in Midrand.

Ngum’s mother paid a sum of R1500 ransom into her daughters account after a man called her from her daughter’s cell phone.

Ransom too? I hope they employ the same efforts of cellphone tracking that they did in the Greek grocer's case.

Normal day is South Africa. Life has no meaning or value here locally.

RIP and I hope they find the subhuman scum responsible for this.

:( life has no value

After that 7yo girl being butchered in her own back yard, I doubt nothing in the news will surprise me for a very long time. That raised the bar of savagery in this country which I doubt can be beaten anytime soon.

The area around Midrand college is a bit shady with an illegal scrapyard, shebeen all operating openly with dodge people hanging around the students. They need to clean up the area with so many students walking around, but zero policing so expect more of the same.:crying::(

I heard the dad on the radio, condolences, though that won't help

Ja, but it's not just that area, it's happening all over the country.
Go look at all the missing people posters at your cop station.
Most of them are young women.

:( I remember a few years ago this was a regular thing ( kidnapping for rather small random amounts ) has this become less or are we just not hearing about it in the media?

A missing adult is usually already dead. It's 2015 - there's logically no way for a mentally stable person to just go "missing" - it's not a set of keys. It's a human being. With the ability to make contact with people that care about them. If you haven't heard from them in a week, they're dead. Or just don't want to be found.

In an area with a high concentration of young students and student accommodation you would hope some effort would be made to look after their safety, sadly this is not the case. A bit surprising that Midrand varsity college don't make more effort with regards to student safety considering that they have tripled in size in the last couple of years.

Look's like SAPS doesn't have that capacity to do such investigative.
