Missing posts / topics ? and whos next to upgrade!

There are definitely topics/posts missing, since about Thursday 27th lunch time. "Buying modem overseas" for one, was quite active on Thursday and Friday. And what about the thread concerning the explanations about the advantages of the new modem firmware, for another? RPM, whats up - can the missing items be recovered and restored/merged back into the forum?

Yeah looks like MyADSL is falling over as we reach 10000 posts [:)]

Hi guys

The reason for this is that I used a slightly older DB version than the one just as the site went off. As I had to move the site myself I had to get the DB the day before it went off. It should be stable from now onwards… My apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Regards,

rpm: It appears that the clock is also running at GMT +3.

Hey Nic,

by upgrading your firmwear do u mean the following:

1]download 20 meg file from netvigator.co.uk
2]click on upgrade /zip file

(in my case i clicked the only pcmcia zip file)

You just need one of the files in the installation/Upgrade directory : 1C for USB and PCMCIA for PCMCIA people. Dbl Click.

Then open the old Wireless Modem Dialler (sp?). Before dialing, click on tools and on the install button (usually greyed). Read the instructions and Voila'

Report back here ASAP, so that others can learn from your experience.

And if it breaks, you get to keep both pieces.

it worked but i dont get the fancy dialler that netvigator has with the signal graph.

also the download new version thing remains clickable after i downloaded

i dont see any difference coz my download speeds are shocking at moment -38k .

although i did hit 1.5MEGS!!!!!!!!!!! ON RODENTS test ,which was highly inaccuracte as i was watching the status all the time

So, why is MyADSL now hosted on an international backbone? I think we just lost ALL the capped ADSL users there, and probably all the Sentech users there too...

As the renowned Mr Steven White of Telkom says: "Local is Lekker."

If you're having hosting hassles, RPM, mail me. Perhaps we can work something out...
