I've always told not to - with antibiotics or pain killers - but what actually happens?

Drunk faster? High? Heart collapses? Anything at all? :/

I have taken headache pills and then had some drinks. Nothing really happened out of the ordinary to me.

depends on the medication, I usually haven't had a problem with antibiotics although I understand that alcohol can reduce the efficacy, pain killers can be a different kettle of fish and I've had a couple of "trippy" experiences there.

It of course depends on the medication.

Mixing central nervous system depressants, is of course a daft idea.

Dunno really. Mixed lotsa stuff as a kid. Besides some pretty insane hallucinations (coediene and lsd or lots and lots od coediene) I never really noticed. Ephedrine (thins) made some difference, mainly keeping me awake and sober after vast quantities of alcohol.

As far as I recall mixing alcohol with certain antibiotics can result in a reaction similar to what Antabuse would cause.
