At least they did something different with the Citi R but joh...what's the difference? Stickers...never ever have i seen a car company promote the fact that a car has a sticker on a boot as something to sell by!!!

AMAZING...this is beyond me!

The funny thing is that theres alot of people that are looking for the original GTS stickers... for their original GTS. Wouldnt be surprised if the stickers out sell the car, but I could be wrong!:p

The original GTS was a 1600 with twin choke carb, and at the time was totally magic. I owned a new one every year from 78 onwards until I switched to the GTi in 83.

You guys are pulling your noses up at a car that was streets ahead of everything else at the time. Now, 30 years down the drag, it is still actually able to hold its head up in vastly newer company. airbags and all that crap hadn't been dreamt of when they were designed, so why diss a car because it hasn't got them?
New price 1978 was R6350...and they were never available with an 1800...that came in the Citi Sport in 1990.

Drive a 1964 E Type Jaguar today and you won't be impressed, but it was the class of the field back then...

NO...your bias is showing.

Amazing how "stupid" the buying public is to keep on buying Citis year after year. If it was such a crappy car, people would have walked away from it years ago.

But I know, if anyone "dares" to say that a Citi is a decent car around here, there is instant hysteria...so why bother...

I agree it was kinda cool to have the car... something about being able to just open the hood and tinker with everything knowing that nothing will break and cost you money, you can open a brand new airbox and drill holes in to to make it sound better and I know I can get another airbox if I mess it up... you cant do that with other cars or the competitors...

It has its bad parts, hi risk and maybe the increasing price is the worst parts of the car...

The Citi WAS a good car ... 30 years ago. The only reason why its sold still is that we do not have the same strict safety & environmental policies. The reason why people still buy them is that the consumer is either looking for something cheap and (fairly) reliable or they are brand blinkered who would buy dog poo if it had a VW badge on it. Both parties don't realise that if they looked a bit further there are much better safer options which are a lot less appealing to criminals.
