That was without a doubt one of the most pathetic articles that I've ever endured. Now wonder the rag that published this has got such a bad reputation.

So this guy bought a Golf for 50 Pounds and then spends another 60 000 Pounds on it in order to achieve a low 10 seconds pass on the quarter. That's, what, about R800K in ZAR? Whoopee! Geez, man, that's mediocre at best.

I'm not even a drag racer and I'm only a backyard mechanic at a stretch but give me half of that money and I'll build you a 9 second car, if not 8 second. And it doesn't matter which car you use as a base either. Almost any car will do. Just build a spaceframe chassis, cover with fibreglass body panels, install a nice 1000 bhp Toyota 2JZGTE and a fat set of Mickey Thompsons and off you go.
