Spot on, Faber didnt have an answer for Baroa.Would have been like that for the next few rounds, unless Faber caught him in a sub.
Glad the Reem is back,but he was playing it very safe.

I would too after the Travis Browne and Big Foot Silva highlight reel knockouts.

Good to see he learns from his mistakes. He was simply too cocky in the BigFoot fight and in the Browne fight he went out too hard and had nothing left.
 
Havent followed UFC in ages. Did GSP ever fight again?

His last fight was against Johnny Hendricks.

Very controversial split decision went GSP's way and then he retired from the sport immediately after that. Like in he announced it in the cage after the fight.

Hendricks is now fighting Robbie Lawler at UFC171 for the vacant title.

I have Hendricks winning that fight, this time he musnt hold back.He said he was punching at 70% power or something stupid like that against GSP..:wtf:

Yeah he went to Thailand to train and left Blackzilians camp.Reem is still a devastating fighter(when on form) whereas its time for Mir to retire for good.

Ruan Potts signs 6 fight deal with UFC.


Johannesburg (South Africa) - EFC AFRICA, the continent’s leading mixed martial arts (MMA) organisation, has clinched a deal for heavyweight champion Ruan ‘Fangzz’ Potts to fight at US based international promotion, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

“This is a great opportunity and we look forward to seeing Ruan competing with some of the best athletes from around the world,” said EFC AFRICA president Cairo Howarth. “We’ve been in talks with the UFC for quite some time and are happy to have come to this agreement with them.”

Potts’ contract is a six fight deal, with his first UFC bout expected to be in April, and will see him representing Africa against heavyweights from across the globe.

Since exploding onto the scene in February 2011 at the EFC AFRICA 07 event, Potts has dominated the heavyweight division and, boosted by EFC AFRICA’s global television reach, has earned himself an international reputation as one of the most talented fighters on the planet.

Wow Awesome news. Ruan actually fought our trainer (Norman) for the title before he lost it to Van Zyl. GL Potts.

Edit: I see he won title back. Must have missed that fight. Damn I wish I was back in training.

Premature end to the main fight, but I doubt the result would have been different. This was not a complacent champion.

Edit: UFC 170 Rousey fights another undefeated Olympic champion.

Tough first fight for Ruan Potts.

He will make his UFC debut on 10 May in Cincinatti.

And if we didn't have enough Ozzie vs SA banter going on already with the rugby and cricket. Potts will face Sao Palelei.

Sao is currently in great form so will be a tough one for Potts to start off with.

Sao is in superb form, 20-3 with his last 10 wins (in a row) coming by TKO(8) and KO(2).
What is really scary is the time he takes to get things done.

UFC 170 Predictions

Ronda Rousey vs. Sara McMann

Sara has a clean record, but she hasnt exactly fought anyone of note.
I wasnt really impressed with Rouseys boxing in her last match with Tate.She kept saying her boxing is so good leading up to the fight but i didnt see any change.
Expect Sara to hit her in the face a few times before Ronda takes her down and breaks her arm.

Daniel Cormier vs. Pat Cummins
I was laughing my ass off when i saw the unedited version of the interview between these 2 and Dana.Pat is virtually unknown but seems to have a very big mouth.They used to be former training partners aswell and Pat said he made Danny cry a few times lol
I expect Daniel to come out and smash him,just like how he has done with every fighter that stood before him.

Rory MacDonald vs. Demian Maia

Rory looked a bit out of it in his last fight,not sure why, but he was definitely distracted and he payed with a loss to Robbie Lawler.Robbie looked out of it aswell, the match sucked period.I dont know what Robbie is going to do come time to take on Johnny Hendricks for the vacated Title.
Maia is coming off a loss to Jake Shields and im not sure what else he has to give us.I think he will receive his marching orders if he loses this match.
Rory to win by decision.
 
I better stay out of this thread until Sunday night late.

We are away for the weekend and I will remotely log in to my XBMC Microserver to start the download. But will only be back late night to watch it.

I'm looking forward to Rory MacDonald's fight. Before he got injured he was a machine but he kind of disappointed in his last fight. Just couldn't finish it.
