Mobile processor war heats up

Haha. They've already lost the war. Intel's way ahead of them. Sorry, AMD. You were a little late for this one. Better luck next time.

From all the info I have read the Puma platform actually does not suit ultra portables (below 12"), but will be very competitive in the normal laptop market.

Quoted from TechReport, "If there is a downside to Puma, it's the fact that Centrino can go places it can't—namely, into ultraportables."

That really is another nail in AMD's already very rotten coffin. Not only does it apparently not seem to be able to compete in the ultra-portable series (such as the Asus EEE), it's also light-years behind in the (mobile) Core 2 Duo department.

Why is everyone so negative about AMD? (No I am not an AMD fanboy and I don't own any AMD pcs).

Competition is always good and helps bring prices down. That should at least be good news.

intel might be fast but amd is better priced.always been like that

If you find Intel expensive, take into consideration that excellence and performance comes at a price- a little more moola.
