more info at link above

I would expect the same to happen here soon, for the equal amount of 5 pounds. ;) Thanks Vodacom - - - At least we have BBC World for now, oh, wait a sec, WHERE WAS THAT LINK AGAIN =/

The local products are very close to release.

I was (pleasantly, in a sense) surprised by the reaction to the sudden disappearance of BBC.

Was not sure if anyone actually watched it.

Thank you for your fast response, have you got no idea when BBC will be back online or even a reason for its disappearance. Will it only come back when the packages are released? Sorry for all these questions ,but I use to really enjoy watching BBC while I am away from home

I gathered as much :) Hope you're not driving while watching.

Looks like it will only be back as part of the packages (next month?). My understanding is that BBC stopped the free service prematurely, could not get any more details.

Thanks, could someone maybe make the Vodacom TV thread a Sticky so you can keep us updated :)

Thank you

So we don't get charged for the packages until 31st January (where after I assume it will be around the equivalent in R), but still for the actual 3G data traffic, right?

The packages MrG posted are the UK ones, so the rates and dates are for Vodafone in the UK.

It's important to note that their structure is the 5GBP PLUS the data used. With UK data rates it's going to cost a fair amount.

Goodness, it IS gonna be expensive. What bitrate are the streams? Want to know what its going to cost to say, watch an episode of the Simpsons. :)

I would guess somewhere around 100-200Kb/s.

A better model might be a fixed price per time period, say per day. A bit like the Blackberry model where you pay a fixed price for the service irrespective of data used.

Yep, that sounds good.

Lost the concept of a Friday (or Saturday or Sunday) night soon after I met you bunch....:)
But you still love us, right?...

Any further news or discussion regarding the channels, V3G says possible for December

Tv Never Going To Be

I noticed that the TV thread is gone from the Sticky list... Does this mean that you (Vodacom 3G) is not updating us regarding this anymore?
Oh well, I did think it wont happen, why are we in South Africa again

The one country that never does anything the way its meant to be
