Hi I have a ZTE MF691 HSPA+ modem. It came with T-Mobile connection software. How can I make the modem work with other connection software instead of the T-Mobile manager ie Vodacom Mobile Connect ??

The modem automatically loads T-Mobile when inserted. I can use the modem to connect to VC but I do not want to use the T-Mobile software.

I have checked the VC site but I cannot see any support for this modem.

Thank you and have a Merry Christmas !

There are options in the software:
1. Not to load at the startup
2. Unload from system tray when exit
Select these options, then exit. Now you can use any third-party software like mdma or even dial a "Connect to" -> connection icon created already by this software.
Merry Christmas to you!

You can use ZTE's own connection manager "Join Air" or as already mentioned MDMA is excellent!

Vodafone's own software is bulky as it's designed as one package fits all and doesn't do the job blindingly well...

You can get ZTE's dashboard here: http://www.dc-unlocker.com/downloads/ZTE/Dashboards

Thanks for the replies. MDMA is not picking up my modem. It keeps on saying "Detecting mobile data device........" I have uninstalled all other dashboard and modem software but still no luck. Using Win 7 Home Premium

Check if modem is intalled properly in Device manager. Just in case drivers have been uninstalled with other software. You can find drivers-only package, perhaps on the same link. If you re-install software, keep only one a time, they can interfere if loaded simultaneously.
