Greetz ppl (and Iburst rep, you slithery chap)

Ever since I decided to turn off my modem (now using Neotel), Monday the 22nd of September i've been doing a steady 700Mb a day in downloads. Pretty good for being capped and having an unplugged modem, don't you think...

If only I had the very same performance while I was actually using Iburst ;)

Dear Iburst rep, quick question. Who is using my acc during it's final few dying days before being gloriously permanently disconnected ? I was under the assumption that my modem was unique to my user name and password.... ?

Also, I loved all the attention I suddenly received courtesy of the "retention department" when it finally hit home that you'd lost another user. All those lovely offers of waiving my "upgrade fee" and promises of making my life so warm and fuzzy.... Ironic no ?

Anyway. It was fun while it lasted, happy hour was a hoot ! (for 2 years)

Kind regards and kiss my buns.

Very interesting... I want that modem as it download just great :D:D:D

....for an unplugged modem and capped account...

Just keep an eye on your bank account for the next few years... to ensure no unauthorized withdrawals is done.

(On another note - it might be this sort of thing which have bitten some of the ex-iBurps forumites in the past as somebody downloaded a ton of stuff using their ex-accounts, and of course, iBurps billed them for that...)

Good luck with that, getting those idiots to respond here is next to impossible, and IF they do it’s all BLAH BLAH BLAH….

To safeguard yourself - take the router to a lawyer, tell them the story, and leave the router there.

Should iBurps try to claim bandwidth usage from you, point them to your lawyer.

Of course iBurst will claim you gave your login credentials to somebody else - but if this is the case why isn't their system working as promised?

I have forwarded a notice to our resident legal eagle, he might have something to say on the matter. Until then, go see a lawyer ASAP.

Mother fluffer ... did you perhaps grow some Magic Mushrooms close to the router? ... it seems to be on its own trip :D

me too, they actually had the DAMN CHEEK to SMS me yesterday- Fscking retard company!!!

If they spam me again, I'll report them to the authorities.

Tis happened to me as well. Switched of my router around the middle of the month when I had 8gigs of usage, but according to them I used 20gigs that month. 20 gigs the following month too even though my router was off.

Sigh.

Thanks for the advice :) , i'm on (more like I was) the old original contract of R599 (3GB) and not on the newer "excessive usage" clauses of the more recent ones so whatever amount of GB's can be used with no worry.

I've made extra sure i've received confirmation emails regarding my account being cancelled at the end of Seprember from not only the "retention" department but the accounts as well. Not the usual automated emails but emails from the respective people in those departments. In that sense i'm beyond covered (in theory at least) should they decide to pull any tricks.

And to further safeguard myself from the usual Iburst accounting grief i've blocked Iburst from withdrawing any amount after September 2008. The sad truth is that they just cannot be trusted. Even though i've theoretically covered all angles i'm still expecting problems further down the line. It's been way too easy.

Turiko - Yup, me too. Endless MMS's in my case. I've never received one until I decided to leave Iburst. Now they're offering incentives for referring 1 or more "friends" to Iburst. Sad bastards.

We have been having the same problem at my work. Is there a program I can install on the 4 PCs in the office that will track their bandwith usage? We are with telkom and we have lost +- 15 GB over the last 4 months.

@ Devill - if you have a spare PC, you can use Smoothwall/IPCop to monitor bandwidth usage :)

PM me if you need a demonstration :)

Netlimiter is another brillent program you can use on the individual pc's

As it is I had no sleep last night- guess when that FSCKING MMS CAME THROUGH!!!! 12:45 AM. The next fscker who SMS'es me awake at night will be dealt with severely.

You not the only one:

1 st account within hours 1300.53 MB disappeared and on secondary account 1464.94 during the 25th/26th of this month...

Something is up, check your accounts!

Something is rotten in the state of iBurps...

/me will check on Monday for any funnies on the iburps accounts used by support...

Hmmm, I wonder... you know when you sign up, they do ask you for your preferred password on the sign up form, you don't suppose the, dare I say it, iBurst employees are getting clever? Is there a way to change your password without having to give it out to the whole call center, lol :D
