Modern Warfare 2 CRACKED (Its started)

The multi-player matches for the PC will be set up via IW.net but hosted and joined through a Person to Person (P2P) connection.

Does this mean it will be possible to host games in SA?

This means we would only need to login to IW.net in US. If I where to host a game in SA other SA players will be able to join because the ping should be low?

Correct me if I'm wrong,

This is how we have been play COD4 on the Xbox. You create a game get your friends to join and play locally. It's a lot faster with low pings. The only problem is the one hosting the game will have to pay for a lot of bandwidth traffic.

Yes, you will be able to host a game.:erm: But if you have a 4mb line, you'd be able to host a game for about 4 players max if you're lucky. You would also have a distinct advantage in-game, considering your ping would be 0 vs the 50-500+ pings of the other players. You would also have to pay for the bandwith being uploaded to the rest of the players.

I'll buy the game when(if) a dedicated server patch gets released. Until then, IW is not getting a cent out of me.

On the Xbox we could have 16 players (8 a side) (or was it 12, it's been a while since I played) without any problems on a 4Mb line (host).

but most people don't have a 4mb line...

Out of my 20 odd gaming friends, ONE has a 4mb line...

Until I'm convinced that it's worth it, i will not spend R500 for the game!

Thanks.

Can a game be hosted of 384kbs line for two players? Even if its two players, we at least get spec ops(which will eventually die off).

+1 to the last bit

So wait if i had a big enough connection i could host a game?

So in theory sgs could host a server?

I hope IW/Actavison makes a huge loss on xbox

In theory, yes, SGS could host a game. But practically it won't work. SGS would actually have to run the game, which will require hardware upgrades capable of doing so. They would have to invest in multiple more servers, because only one server can run one instance of the game at a time. One slot, of the already limited +/-16 player slots, will be taken up by a player doing nothing. SGS would have to employ a person for every game they are hosting to ready each game and monitor the progress of each game 24/7.

if only more of the world would stick together on this, we could put the company in -numbers, and hopefully they go broke and end up working for mcdonalds. I dotn care if they make pretty looking games, there are other games that are fine to play

Everyone around the world is angry about no dedicated servers, but after the game launches most of them will buy the game(not in SA) and find out that IW.net actually works. Here is SA this wont be possible and IW wont bother adding dedicated servers.

So really, we all actually angry at the fact that we lagging behind the rest of the world with our bandwith/latency issues. IW.net could have worked for us all if we could connect.

Bro, All Network gaming history points to setups like IW.net FAILING! Its just a cheap excuse to stop piracy, would could be brought down other ways BTW

Actually we are not lagging behind with our latency issues.

People from the UK who play on an SA server get 170-300 ping.

Our problem is distance, a guy in the uk playing on a European server will have a good ping because it is not far, sadly we are so far away from America, Europe etc we have bad pings, this is something that never will change even if we have 40meg lines.

Only the one hosting must have a 4Mb line, the rest can be on a 384Kbps line.

Edit: Keep in mind that this was with COD4, I don't know if it would work the same with MW2.

well if that was on an eight meg line, a 16 meg would almost cut it down by half, giving you atleast around 100 - 120 ms ping.

if one was to connect directly to another computer while one connection is 12 meg and one connection is a 4 meg and you get that ping of 170 - 300, then you can divide by 3 if they are to be both on a 12 meg, leaving you with a ping of around 66 ms average, so a 40 meg line is most definitly going to get you somewhere
