Hey guys,

I know a lot of people have switched to BC2 and that includes myself, but sometimes I still like to jam a little on the mw2 scene...

I need some advice, however. I upgraded my CPU, Mobo and Router (also did a new install of W7 X64) and since doing this I cannot find a game online... I can't join a friend either (just says connecting and then counts up until 25 then times out). My NAT is open, I checked and double checked it.

Anything else I should check? I have a D-Link 2640U.

Please help I am really getting frustrated...

At least I can play BC2.. :)

try manually updating your steam.:wtf:
it does do that sometimes. When i reinstalled mw2 it did that.
so just open community--> file--> check for steam client updates
 
Regarding joining the online games.. because everyone is playing bc2.

yeah I was just taking a jab, i still get the urge to play mw2 but IWnet waiting is annoying.

Dude i give you 5mins before the Battlefield fanboys come and tell you that BC2 is so much better in everyway. Which it is simply not. Not that great as what we all honestly expected.

BC2 is a cool game, don't get me wrong, but it needs like kill streak awards (like MW2). Yeah it is cool that you can get mortars etc, but I find it takes WAY too long to level up... (Maybe I am just crap - but it took me a couple of days to get to level 5....)
 
Regargrding the OP, I have the same router and win7 64, no issues, try google or openDNS setting on your router and PC with fixed IPs. That fixed internet stability issues I had with the router.
 
Guys, I made my IP static. I forwarded the MW2 ports and still... No games. BC is okay, but they have made it WAAAYAYYYY to easy to spawn camp which irritates the crap out of me. I play on average about 10 - 15 minutes before I am absolutely gatvol. Then I want to go take out my frustrations on MW2, but I am not able to find a game... :(

Any help PLEASE?
 
I have that router and played without an issue yesterday, like I said using google DNS sorted out issues I had. Also get the latest firmware update from the dlink sa site.
Forgot to mention that the dlink updates directory has a MW2 troubleshoot guide as well.

But I have not forwarded ports, my settings are standard with just google DNS.
 
Thanks! I did a couple more adjustments and port forwards and it seems to be working!!! Thanks for all your help gents!
