moeller MFD4-5-XRC-30 LCD Screen replace.

Hi mybb friends

I need some help if anyone knows of or can assist.

I have a enviro data cabinet that uses a moeller MFD4-5-XRC-30. This device controls accessing / environmental monitoring and a few other things regarding the Data cabinet.

My issue is the full graphics 5.7 inch color STN display with 256 colors LCD has started to fade, flicker and become no viable.

I have contacted people and companies but have had no luck.
Replacement device costs R21000-00 (yes you read right). I have found a supplier in Germany for the screen only but they don't have stock and cant advise when they will get it again.

Looking for a replacement screen and just to inform you that its touch screen as well.

Any mybb support would be appreciated.

Think you will have to strip the panel out and see what specks you can get off it.

Have you tried having it repaired?

I have stripped it and its a HITACHI SX14Q004 LCD SCREEN ... can find on ebay but not fond of ebay stuff.

Had our monitor repair guy look at it but cant find replacement screen and cant repair because its the board inside the LCD thats gone

Moeller is now Shneider.
Hehehe, that is still cheap. Wait till Siemens get hold of you.

We have these issues all the time, and after 5 years, they tell you the model is outdated and not available
The newer model have less features and the software is not directly compatable anymore.
So now you have to upgrade the software, re-write the program, ect...

I would recomend you look at the PLC rather and see if you can not get a cheaper alternative replacement screen.
Another solution would be to rather use a seperate PC with a touch screen.

Call Euro-Tech in Gordon's Bay, they indicate that they stock them, http://www.eurotech.co.za/components/components.php?page=629

You can also try other local electronics distributors to see if any of them stock it, Mantech, Communica, Avnet Kopp, RS etc etc. Phone around and check, if they don't have ask them if they know of anyone else to try.
