Mohlala fighting for her job

Well they're really just getting rid of her because that's what they wanted when they removed her from the DoC. Now that the legalities have been fulfilled they're trying to shove her all the way out the door. I hope she wins and embarrasses these fools some more.

Because she's doing too good a job...

I hope she wins her case. We need more people like her, to get rid of corruption and underhanded deals.

well she pissed many friends of the erstwhile Minister of Communications. They just want to get rid of her anyway, because she is a no nonsense taker.

The only thing wrong here is that they did not inform her of the advert. Otherwise it is standard practice.

One could argue that the DTI has not done anything wrong, but this points to a bigger problem of flawed legislation: if the DTI is legally allowed to hire and fire the National Consumer Commissioner on a whim, it is reasonable to state that the CPA is not worth the used toilet paper it is written on since political influence and nepotism will always trump the CPA and those tasked with enforcing the act however competent/incompetent they may be.

If she was permanently appointed to the position I'd agree with you. However she is on contract and it is about to expire.

If her contract was automatically renewed every man and his dog would be shouting that it was unfair and that the position should have been advertised.

She can apply for the position and should be in pole position due to her already being in the position.

That much we can agree on, however the article stated that even parliament's portfolio committee was not informed. This might be a lack of communication from the DTI but there are smoke signals that something nefarious is afoot.

PS, I don't particularly like this woman due to the ADSL Regs but she did appear to be competent as the NCC.
