Over weekends I have more time to spend on the computer. I normaly try and tweak it to make it faster so that I can complain quicker about stuff. Only problem is over weekends I have a beer or two and then my computer starts playing up and then I go to the kitchen (my thinking pad) and have another beer or two and come up with clever ideas to fix it. Only problem is that it does'nt work at all afterwards.
On mondays my friend with bulletproof glasses has to come and fix it for me.
Any ideas what could be causing this? Do I have to buy a new computer?

... Beer Breath causes your pc to go into Alcohol Protection Mode!

Like you get safe mode for Windows - You get Alcohol Protection Mode. The computer usually enables it when detects drunk idiots tampering with it. The only fix i can think off offhand to bypass this Alcohol Mode, is to switch off and unplug the computer entirely when you feel the urge to get tanked (even mildly). Should this work around not work, may i suggest just staying in the kitchen, because lately we've been getting too many dumb posts on this forum that's likely Alcohol related!

Enjoy that beer brother!.

Buy a Mac. It just works. No tweaking is necessary. :) Will give you more time for beer, while your visiting PC owning friends will think you an intellectual for owning such a machine. :)

Funny, When i see people with a mac i feel sorry for them wasting their money in the first place for a peace of junk thats limiting and boring. Mac's are definately for people in old age homs that needs a thing that switches on and off. PC's are definately for people who likes to tweak (when sober) and explore how to push their pc's behond its specifications - alot more fun!.

Yeah - cos this is something that begs for tweaking http://www.apple.com/macpro/ :p Seriously when you get this close to perfection it doesn't need tweaking. ;)

What does 1 Corinthians 13:11 say . . When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things . . . and bought a Mac. :D

unfortunately he won't be able to afford any beer then... :p

I ran out of beer on saterday so I had a good look at what I normaly do. It's that damn RegistryMechanic. Could not go onto internet after running it, but had the presence of mind to do a revert instead of manual repairs and no more problems.
