So my kids called me today, a blue line has appeared vertically on my 27' Samsung monitor. Now, it's not new and has given over a decade of service ( 27' Samsung LCD 2ms ). Removed the hdmi input to check its not coming from gpu, it seems clear something has gone wrong with the actual display itself.

If anything I'd guess the board/driver. The line is about 1 pixel wide but from top to bottom.

I know it's old but is this worth a repair? New monitor LED similar spec is between R2.6k and R3k and not something I really want to purchase right now.

Going to check Carbonite as well, don't need 4k so maybe that's a option or of folks know a decent repair place in Durbs?

any offbeat cellphone fixer ,ask him just to replace the capacitors in the psu .nothing else further down the line is economical ,can be repaired but if not psu then its deeper and a repair wont last

I used to spend time trying to fix monitors ( but mainly for my camera displays so a different use case) but then I saw the prices at cash convertors etc. and it really not worth it for the smaller sizes.

So perhaps go have a look there and see if you find something good.
