Hi all,

I need some advice, I'd like to start monitoring my network on a Windows 10 64 bit PC.

Basic network each connecting to ADSL router via network cable with 3 wireless devices - only really interested in my main PC being monitored.

I'm not doing it because I suspect anything, I just want to start monitoring it - seeing how much I download, what applications use how much - as much data as possible.

A friend suggested "Wireshark" however, after installing it, it's not a easy program to understand unless someone here can guide me to a site that can help.

Just looking for a easy to use app that is freeware and that does as much as possible.

Try the free version of Netlimiter

It gives the bandwidth usage in total and broken down per application

The only thing that the paid-only version can do is limit bandwidth per application

tcpview is freeware, or processexplorer

go peak around toolslib or sysinternals or sectools

I have started using this and I like it - basic, to the point.

Glasswire

I used this before but noticed it was a resource hog of note - couple of my friends also used it and removed it again after figuring out the same - however, I have downloaded it again and will give it a shot.

Hmm I suspect the deeper the monitoring the more resources most things would use.
