Monster screens

nice monster prices too, I'll bet!

I'm sure I have ten or twenty grand laying around here that I can blow on a TV. :p

Problem isnt so much screen size as it is resolution. who wants a 108 inch lcd that does 1200 x 800?

Laptops are prime examples. 1200x800 is a carp res. wxga should have died a slow painfull death long ago imho. bring on wuxga if its too small then lower the res but dont try tell me that 1200x800 is the best possible res out there.

ROFL! A 2.7m LCD TV. That's just crazy! Whoever buys that must be loaded. That monster will take up your whole wall!

I have an uncle that is doing a house for some uber rich guy and he apparently is paying 450k for a custom made 3 or 4m plasma from Philips (or one of them) ..... talk about a waste of money eh ......

Its amazing how much money some people have. Makes my proud Sony 40" seem like a joke. :(

ouch the old 103inch was $50.000 and they said that the new one will be double!!!:eek:

If a woman demands that kind of size she can pay for it her bloody self....

Better off getting an HD projector that would cost R30'000+/- and than i.e. a 70" Samsung Full HD LCD that costs R400'000+/- from Sybaritic.

he could have bought another house:eek:

Somehow I dont think a guy like that would want to live in a house of 500k.

If his TV is 500k, the house must be massively expensive?............

Or maby its like our local GTI, getune'de, V-dub Belleville clan that drives a R15 000 old City Golf with R17 000 spinner mags.

So this guy might just very well live in a R350 000 flat.

They're quoting almost 4K resolution for that Panasonic.

BTW here is a comparison of the super high res formats:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:UHDV2.svg

4K = 4096 x 2160.

The problem is that you need video in that resolution because 1080p (less than 2K)
is going to look not sharp enough, unless you use a good upconverter.

Of course if you have a 4K display you may as well shoot the video
yourself in 4K using a Red camera. ;)

I could never understand the thing with big TVs. I'm more for portability. High res phone screens (or projections) is a much smarter approach to the problem.

I remember once reading up on the worlds biggest CRT tube, turns out to me some 108cm Sony. What a waste.
