Month-to-month LTE pricing

Is the difference not that you get a fixed wall or pole mounted antenna to boost signal a little? Wouldn't matter otherwise if you decided not to use the fixed antenna.

If they do not provide you with that then there is absolutely zero difference except that you fall in a "qualifying area" - which you may as well determine yourself on prepaid.

You could also always get yourself your own antenna.
Nope, I have not seen Any provider give an external antenna with these lte deals.

After using rain . I can't even give these a second look . Schedule all your downloads in the 19 off peak hours that are uncapped.

Is RAIN's fixed LTE option going again or do they only promote the 19h + 4 hours capped option now?

I never really understood the concept of 'FIXED MOBILE' services. Ill rather try RAIN R250 which is mobile

Well that's easy to grasp, in areas with no adsl/fiber, you get an LTE package, but in order to keep costs down they sell you a package that is linked to a specific tower meaning you don't go congesting other towers with your cheaper LTE data. Or at least that's how it's supposed to work.

It is good, but in the case of my parents they need the bulk of the data in the capped times. So the telkom deal is pretty good, since cellc network can't take it last time I tried it. Will definitely get this telkom for my parents.

I notice you ALL missed out on the Telkom MAY BIG DEAL
OK it IS a 24month contract
BUT
10GB ANYTIME data PLUS 5GB after hourts PLUS Huawei mobile WiFi router for R140.00PM
Data rolls over for two months
Is mobile -- not locked to any tower
NO roaming BUT Can put ANY SIM in the router
10GB top up at anytime at the SAME price = R99.00 for 10GB ( I think this needs to be done at a Telkom direct shop ? )
Otherwise you can top up any other way

All in all I would say it beats ANY of these other offerings !

The contract part is the problem...
Not worth the savings honestly

Great in theory, but in practice...?
I applied online for this deal at the beginning of May, the application was approved, and since then - NOTHING! Despite my many queries online, by telephone, and on Facebook, there is absolutely NO progress in actually providing the service, and we are talking here about a sim-only deal. I had previously applied for their March big deal which included a router at R139 p.m. and up to now "we are checking our warehouse for stock".
No, Telkom, you obviously do not want my support.:mad::mad:
I have since decided to cancel the order - ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE FROM TELKOM!!!

Regular LTE also works with 2G, 3G networks and modems
Fixed-LTE will not work with 2G or 3G networks and modems.
What modem are you talking about? A dongle? If so, I seriously doubt that you wouldn't be able to connect to a tower using it.

I've Rain and AH for the peak hours. And AH sucks for the only job it needs to do: provide connectivity during peak. Random disconnects, every so often I need to manually search for towers, and I think the B618 I have is gimped since the 5GHz wifi works intermittently. Rather go with Axxess since AH and Cell C seem to have plenty of issues.

It's not about the modem but the tower. You can connect to other towers but a 2G or 3G tower won't allow you to connect on a fixed LTE package.
