More companies to launch Virtual server hosting services

Virtual servers is more unstable unless hosted on cloud vps. Had a problems with a lot of VPS servers, rather pay more and have your own server with your own hardware, you never know when another VPS user will cause that the server stop responding or cause that the other users not getting the hardware resources to run their hosting on it. STAY CLEAR FROM IT!

You know not what you talk about. While this may have been true a few years ago, the hardware is fully redundant and resources are locked and reserved for each server.

Mmm... delicious english there bud... :D

Just recently did a comparison for local VPS offerings and basically gave up.

When compared to what is offered overseas, its quite a joke. Compare unlimited bandwidth for $20 p.m to R650 for 10GB in South Africa.

No thanks.

As long as prices for locally hosted bandwidth remains high I'll stay overseas

I couldnt agree with you more. I have more Intl. customers signed up with me on my hosting company than I do here locally. I have actually closed up shop locally purely because local bandwidth is that expensive. Which is absolutely rediculous!!
Intl. I can pay anywhere between $50 - $500 on a VPS/Dedicated/Cloud server all of which come standard Minimum with 1000GB of data traffic.

Locally the most you get on the upper bound prices is 100GB??? Like WTF??

Another thing to consider is service levels.
I have had a Webfaction account for a few years now, and the speed and efficiency at which they resolve support tickets is unlike anything I have experienced locally.

By your own statement Local and International are worlds apart, and they are for all hosting levels. But we are talking about local here so you are going off topic.

Local server hosting is essential to one of my clients but the cost of dedicated server is pretty steep;
  • 1 x dedicated Linux for 90% of the websites,
  • 1 x Windows for mission critical IIS only apps (not my choice).
The Windows option would not work on shared hosting but dedicated is serious overkill. Bring on the VPS/Cloud options!
