More farm Genocide

This is sad news, but calling this a genocide for cheap political gain is an insult to all people who have being effected by real genocides. Calling this genocide is akin to the story of the boy that cried wolf.

Agreed. I would like to add on behalf of Wiz, if I may, that we are not saying people aren't being hurt and killed and we are not arguing this is right, it isn't...but call a spade a spade.

PS: Why the name change?

This is far from a genocide.
more than 90% of people killed every year in SA are black african, who make up for 75% of the SA populatio
A little bit more than 5% of people killed are white african, who make of for 10% of the population

But the crime rate is disgusting, whatever population group affected.

FFS must I explain it again? It is the violent and aggressive attack of a certain group.
If it was just robbery or theft then fine it would be random crime.
It is considered GENOCIDE due to the fact that it is the VIOLENT and BARBARIC murder of a group. It is a hate crime.
They dont just kill them either, it is mostly torture and the use of knives indicate the personal agenda of the intruders.
You guys can live in your hippie left wing worlds all you want. The reality is this happened up north in the past and its happening here now.
Go and watch the movie Africa Addio.
1500 murders? As usual R13 is pulling these numbers probably from the ANC sponsored stats.

The numbers were given by TAU during the ill conceived [-]promotion[/-] hate speech trial of Julius Malema.

Saw this on the news last night, extremely sad when the son described how he found his mother and step father.

We need the death penalty for criminals like this, nothing less.

Genocide is a bit of an overstatement but the killings play an important part in the Government's plans for redistribution.

Land reform as envisaged by the ANC after 1994 has always had two aspects with the first being the concept of ‘willing seller, willing buyer’ promoted for public consumption. The second came into being with the abolition of the Commando system which was the foundation on which the security of the farmers rested and was intended to generate willing sellers.

It was obvious from the outset that violence against farmers would increase after the removal of their protective umbrella and this is exactly what has happened. The excessive brutality used in these attacks shows that simple robbery is not the motive and sends out a very clear message to farmers and their families.

While Mugabe's thugs were crude and direct with no pretence at legality, the similarities between his methods and what is happening here are impossible to ignore. Attacks are going to continue unabated, encouraged by Malema's hate speech which clearly has the unspoken support of the ANC.

There has never being an effective protective umbrella... during Apartheid and after it for farmers. Coming from a farming family I remember the stuff we had to prepare for as kids because we didnt have any aid. The farm roads were always the roads with the limpet mines and such on them. Farmers, because of their rural remoteness have always had to rely more on themselves than expect quick government aid.... at any time. Personally in our entire history, our family has never being part of some commando system. I dont know how active commando systems there actually were, but they were not of any in my area.

Best we had was all the farms in our area are connected via radio and if anyone has a problem then all the locals would rush to that farmer. Though it wasnt an organized commando unit and its still fully in operation today.

So in a nutshell I dont agree with your interpretation of events. Simple robbery has being the motive behind every single attack on our farms, our neighbors farms and all the farms in the Kei Road area ( I can only speak from experience on this). There is not some type of wonky alteriar motive behind the attacks we experienced. Its was for money and to steal our stuff.

Sounds like ‘Farm Watch’. I think they are beefing it up because the Commando’s have been disbanded and the targeting of farms.

Aand you guys are just latching on to Malema's shoot the boer nonsense which gives the only bit of credibility to the act being systematic and deliberate. I think you'd find it's really very much done in isolation because of the problems in each rural community, even if they are similar ones. A lot of these attacks are revenge attacks where the attackers know their victims and have some or other reasons for targeting them i.e wage disputes, mistreatment and the like. Not saying that these are good reasons at all, but I think that is what drives it, localised issues, not some systematic plan to kill all white boere. In a lot of these cases this has been found out to be the reason. Why do you think otherwise, ie. that it is systematic and planned?

Also useful to note that this was going on long before Malema's utterances, I always thought the hey-day of farm killings happened before this. Was there any noted spike in killings.. and it would ofc help if we had useful data in general, any sources that aren't "afrikanergenocide.blogspot.com"?

And http://www.censorbugbear.org/ you just have to see what sites link to it as well as the general tone to show there's more to them than just highlighting violence on farms.

I see it as murder (So does most South Africans). How is it different from any other robbery where the victim is seen as a soft target? Unfortunately in this case, lives were lost. What exactly are you insinuating?

Once again, condolences to the family. May the victims souls RIP.

3000+ of 40.000 farmers death. And you say that this is not genocide?

How about Apartheid's security police and the AWB types killing any blacks,
Apartheid police & ''AWB-types" never killed thousands of blacks. This pseudo-communist government has much more blood on its hands than the apartheid regime.

Apartheid police & ''AWB-types" never killed thousands of blacks.

You're right, unlawful killings of blacks by apartheid police is less than a thousand. But then why get your hands dirty when you can fund and train another political party to do the job for you.

Cant believe that some on this forum don't believe that this is genocide. Maybe if I said, " white farmer Genocide", or better still, "boer genocide" it would wake up the ostriches? Point is, its genocide. Deal with it.

Wikipedia defines genocide as, "the deliberate and systematic destruction, in whole or in part, of an ethnic, racial, religious, or national group"

In this case its the white Farmers and Boers that are being targeted (they part of the same ethnic/racial group). Sure its not a genocide against just the white race, we all know that! You have to also be a farmer to fit the category.

"the deliberate and systematic destruction of part of an ethnic, racial group" The part being affected are the farmers...

Genocide? You know you're pushing it, right...

marine1, if it was genocide the ratio of black people being killed vs white the ratio would have to be higher for white people, it's not.

Title should have read "More barbaric farm murders"...

Genocide is a bit of an overstatement ...

All of you guys need to go read Genocide watch, The International Alliance to End Genocide. Why is South Africa on the list if there is no genocide?

Have a look at "Genocide Watch's Countries at Risk 2011". Link is available on the main page.

See Pg 2:

Then some more good reading:

Take note of point 10, "what is going on doesn’t fit the definition of genocide"

I am in no way a supporter of "farmers, Boers" or whatever else you want to call them but the reality is, it is genocide.
The hippies and Pro ANC crew dont want to admit it as it does not fit in with their agendas but as you stated, its without doubt a genocide of a group.

At least they caught the bastards.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the murder of an elderly couple on their Heidelberg farm, Gauteng police said on Monday.

"Our forensic experts at the scene found DNA and fingerprints from three people, we put those into our system, and by Saturday night we had names of suspects," said Brigadier Anton de Bruyn.

"A team started chasing them that night [Saturday]... one man was arrested in Balfour on Saturday night and the other man was arrested in Slovoville on Sunday morning."

So according to you that is just another botched up robbery as the SA ANC statistic's would have it. What will you say when the farm murder rate increase when FUMalema implement his "unofficial" plans of land "recovery"?

read:

Sonopo said the house was ransacked. A rifle and electrical appliances were stolen.

until they surround a white person and beat him to death in broad day light as they do with foreigners, it's not ever going to be genocide
