More Pet Food Problems

So just got a phone call from the vet, the females urine shows signs of kidney problems as well, so they have just sent off her blood work as urgent, so will know tonight *sighs*

Thing is, legal action can't make our dogs better... Don't care about the money, would spend anything for them

i agree, money wouldn't replace my animals. they are part of our family and i'm sorry to hear what you're going through.

if it was me, i would want to inflict some form of pain in the food manufactures direction...even if it is just to show how important your animals were to you. it will eventually make them think twice about how important their quality control process is.

thanks goodness my kitties favourite food is not on the list, Royal canin outdoor.

i mean, i cook chicken and she doesn't even eat it. we've tried every other brand and the only food she eats, royal canin outdoor. i've tried to mix it up with other food. but she knows the difference. she's a clever lass.

the dogs eat almost anything along with the other 2 cats. i think they have too much dog influence

Friends of mine have a R3K GSD pup and they fed him Vets Choice

We were using Vets choice. They gave us Eukanuba as a replacement.

The vet has no clue what is wrong with Vets choice but all I can figure out is its some form of plastic powder...?

According to this Eukanuba is not safe??

IIRC friends had the GSD pup for 3 weeks on Vet's Choice.

Probably nothing After all it is China we're talking about. Although some would say the U.S is no better .


Expect more of this as companies start relying on Chinese suppliers for their products .

Fact is that this news broke a while back... we just heard about it recently. How many of you heard about this from your own vet (who may have been selling you the food)? At least until recently??

Looks like we were lucky. Would've purchased new food this weekend.

Although food was purchased 3 weeks ago and the Staffies look fine, the vet advised us to get them of VC for safety. Back on Ultradog SuperWoof (were do they get these names ) ) Incidently, that's what we were using until a year or so ago, when the vet stopped stocking it. They were delivering bags and bags and bags of the stuff this afternoon

Re : Suggestion of Dog Food

If I could make a suggestion for all of you that had to take your pets of Vet's Choice because of the contamination : Try Nola Dog Food brands.

I worked for a vet for a few years and his wife sold Nola's Brand of Pet Food. We had a Boerboel/Mastiff and a Rottweiler and we gave them Superwoof and they were in perfect condition.

Go to the "SVD" bar on Nola's page and see what different kinds of products they have there. They have the Growth Variance for puppies and also the Ultadog Variance for the older dogs and even Senior dogs.

Hope this helped somewhat as I know how difficult it is when your pet is used to only one kind of brand. What I liked about Nola is that they give you the sample packs to try out at home before you buy the big bag.

If any of you live in the Rustenburg/Lichtenburg area I can give you the name of a vet's wife that sell's the Nola Pet Food. Just send me an email...
