The price of 95 Octane petrol is set to rise by seven cents per litre, while 93 Octanes will go up five cents a litre from next Wednesday, the energy department has said.

“The decrease in the price of illuminating paraffin and LPG will benefit households that use these products, especially as winter approaches,” Martins said.

In other words, the poorer households have something to vote for in the upcoming elections, as a way of saying thank you to the government for lowering prices.
