Gauteng residents can expect more rain on Saturday evening, the SA Weather Service said.
Forecaster Vanetia Phakula said that there was a 30 percent chance of rain in Gauteng in the early evening.
Joburg emergency services spokesman Robert Mulaudzi said that personnel would remain on high alert in the city, especially in critically affected areas such as Alexandra Ivory Park, Diepsloot, and some parts of Soweto.
"We have automated rainfall systems in place in those areas which assist us to disseminate information to affected communities," he said.
This comes after most parts of the city, including the roads, were affected by floods on Friday.
"We ... would like to urge motorists to be vigilant as they drive, if the roads are flooded they must use alternate routes," Mulaudzi said.
Pedestrians should also avoid crossing flooded bridges and young children were urged to stay away from drainage systems to avoid drowning.
Phakula said a 60 percent chance of rain is expected in the North West, the Free State, the Western Cape, the Eastern Cape, as well as the high lying areas of Mpumalanga.
