I expect lots of violent strikes from now on, seeing as the miners got large increases from violent protest...

I actually think we might be watching the start of Unions falling apart in this country tbh...

The government can only reasonably tolerate this kind of crap for so long before they have to take strong and decisive action.

Well a recent court case confirmed that unions are responsible for any damage..

What are two trucks going to cost SATAWU ?

And in doing so alienate a huge portion of their support base...

Viva strikers viva. Tear the alliance of evil apart.

Two Trucks?

I know of at least 10 trucks in Durban that have been damaged.

That is the catch22 that the ANC find themselves in right now, which might explain (to a degree) the absolute inability to actually DO anything right now.

They know they need to deal with these strikes appropriately, but they also know that they will alienate large swathes of their support base if they do.

What I'm more worried about is the inflation that's going to come from this, and the long term effects :erm:

A rough ride ahead for all South Africans, politically, financially and instability.

Wonder where all the Pro SA crew are now?

i know that it must be disappointing that the genocide brigade isn't protesting for a wage increase either so you can rub our noses in it, but the people protesting do not and will not ever represent every south african. in much the same way i don't point out that you are near tears when a farmer dies but you happily skip over a thread where ANC members get shot.

so they're protesting and getting violent. so what? they have nothing. they have nothing to lose. you probably don't even know their names or give a **** who they are, and you wouldn't give a **** whether they were burning trucks or if they were dancing peacefully.

has your paycheck decreased? has your house been taken away from you? have you been arrested? have you had your life threatened today? I'm the pro-SA crew because of the people of this country and the freedom that they have now. none of us have said SA is perfect, it's far from it, but it's not a genocidal war zone on the brink of disaster as many of the anti-sa people hope.

thank you for pointing this article out to us and taking into consideration that many of the pro-sa people cannot read

has your paycheck decreased?

Yes I am earning a 3rd of what I use to due to downsizing in our company.

has your house been taken away from you?

Yes I am renting now, and black listed.

have you been arrested?

No why would I be after they took everything and resold it for nothing.

have you had your life threatened today?

Today, no, last week they wanted to stab me on Atlas Road for my cell phone, luck would have it I could drive away.

_____

So I ask of you what freedom do we have, all of us are just trying to survive what ever comes our way, how is that freedom?

i'm earning triple of what i used to 4 years ago

i'm renting also, i'm not blacklisted.

who is this they?

and you are not the only person exclusively being robbed, and some people are not lucky enough to drive away or to have a cell phone worth stealing.

freedom is not having everything handed to you on your lap. there are plenty of people who have it harder than you and me. there HAS been more freedom since apartheid has ended and i marvel at white people whom seem to think nothing has changed, they clearly didn't know what a lot of coloureds and blacks and indians had to go through every day of their lives. as **** as the ANC is a lot of people would pick the ANC 100 times over before they pick apartheid again.

I guess FaSMaN should consider himself lucky for your good fortune
Seriously, "It could have been worse" is no justification for being in a shit situation

Edit: And before you play your race card again, I'm not white.

I agree, i realised after posting what i did that one bad does not justify another bad. i just get the ****s in with people who have this attitude as if they go to restaruants and complain that the food isn't up to standard while there are people hungry at the window, and then they sit inside complaining how things have gone downhill with their starters and main meals.

It would be fair to simply say we're all suffering, and we're all working through it. I don't know why people on this forum have to jump up in excitement to take jabs at certain groups or people like hyperactive puppies. It's ****, we'll get over it. Thanks for pointing it out

Wow good for you, here have a cookie, this isnt the majority case though.

PS Just got out of highschool and got your first job?
Thats the only way I could fathom a 4x increase in 4 years.

i'm renting also, i'm not blacklisted.

Wow so you never made a commitment on a house, guess that 4x isnt worth much then.

who is this they?

I guess this will need some explanation, we owed R280 000 on a house that we purchased for 1.3million, after the cuts at work and my GF at the time lost her job, we couldnt make monthly payments, so we took out a second home loan to put us trough what we thought was 3 months, after 3 months we tried selling it, couldnt 3 months after needless to say we could pay at the end of it, the bank repossessed the house, it was auctioned for R290 000 well below its market value due to some corruption and them not advertising the auction, we stilled owed the bank for the second home loan 30 000+/- and was blacklisted for that.

and you are not the only person exclusively being robbed, and some people are not lucky enough to drive away or to have a cell phone worth stealing.

Then why ask, should I give my company phone back to them and tell them I want a Nokia 3310?

As for luck, I probably was as I managed to get away without being stabbed, wasnt the time before that when I got bashed over the head though, cost me R1200 to go to a local hospital for some stitches, and still have the scar.

Did I ever say I was White?
Or Apartheid was better?

And even more people would choose a group of sign language capable chimps over the ANC. The problem with the Pro-saffers is that you try to compare SA policies now, to the SA policies under apartheid. But you should be comparing it with the rest of the world. Raise the bar to where it should be and you will probably find that you are irreversibly disappointed by what you see.
