MOSS or MTCS for sharepoint courses, pta

any one know of a facility that gives either MOSS or MTCS for sharepoint courses ?

so far only one found in woodmead (http://www.lgit.co.za/)

Stay away from MOSS... Do MCTS only if you want to add to your company's competencies. Nothing beats experience, imho...

On the ground of having seen pretty much 99.9% of MOSS implementations failing in various environments. The idea of MOSS is incredible, but the implementation isn't what it should be and proper setup and configuration is too difficult for low-skill techies.

Also, for MOSS to work properly you are dependent on developers to write proper web parts for it. I would rather invest time in building some best-of-breed applications and integrating with pretty much every line-manager / employee in the corporate world's tool of choice: Outlook.

Ahh, I though this is more of a case of you don't really know anything about MOSS.

MOSS is great. Yes it gets difficult to install but its really not that hard. If its not done correctly, then you may get into trouble, but MOSS is a great platform, and I would really like to work at a company that properly use MOSS.

That just the thing. In principle, MOSS is great. In practice, it fails. I haven't seen a single MOSS implementation done properly (and actually being used) without being more than a portal-site listing links to other internal (or external) apps. I think the SA corporate market isn't mature enough for MOSS yet. On the international scene with high-tech corporates with lots of money to throw around, MOSS can work great. Unfortunately we don't live there, so we have to cater for our IT-crippled market.

regardless it is going to be sharepoint. now if the cigar talk is over, how bout some decent institutes in and around pta, i was so long ago at one can't really remember any places...

Ok I know its not in Pta but if I can remember correctly there Training house next to Microsoft in Bryanston present MOSS training. Can't remember their name but worth a check.

e-learning seems about the only way and go write the exams. looking at microsoft's e learning.
