Is cashew apple the same as wax jambu?

Nah, they look similar, but a cashew apple is the fruit that the cashew nut grows out the bottom of. Most places simply discard the fruit, but some people do cook with it or make beer. The fruit to me has a weird flavour in that it stimulates all parts of your mouth, sweet, sour, bitter, etc at the same time.
