Does anyone have more recent figures than these, from 2007/2008:

1. Nissan 1400 - 507 Stolen
2. Nissan Hardbody - 141 Stolen
3. Mitsubishi Colt - 125 Stolen
4. Isuzu KB280 - 122 Stolen
5. Isuzu KB250 - 114 Stolen
6. BMW 318 - 77 Stolen
7. Ford Courier - 65 Stolen

The like the older Toyota's very much, I don't see any in that list.
 
I think this will show the misinformation about the VW Golf...ppl don't want it anymore, coz the parts are available for cheap anyways

Useless stats anyway, rather have a % of vehicles stolen to those sold/licensed..
 
The VW Golf demands a recount. Insurance companies don't want to cover it without a tracker.
 
So I can renegotiate insurance coz of this? I can prove that my Alfa is less likely to be stolen...thus no need for tracker, and no need to add vehicle theft into the premium?

LOL I wanted to make a comment about Alfa's as well but see there is already...

Insurance is calculated based on risk - which in turn is calculated using very complex calculations done by the very smart men called Actuaries... Car make plays a role yes, but lots of other factors / circumstances contributes to the scoring like age/location...

You can re-negotiate your premiums usually on a yearly basis - though don't expect it to drop... they've got all kinds of jargon to keep from dropping your monthly's...

well thats strange because the insurance companies charge premium rates for VW's, especially citi golf's because of the high theft issue.
 
Exactly...thus I asked, with this info, can we now negotiate the premiums...
 
Again i tell you, just stats on stolen cars is USELESS.
you need a ratio on make/model stolen to those sold/licensed..
 
Don't forget that insurance also takes the Cost of parts into account as it covers accidents along with theft.
 
AHA!! I see that Polo is definitely number ONE risk on these stats...........................:rolleyes:
