Hi,

As the forum is mostly anonymous this shouldn't be too much to ask :)
Could you post your average earning's and the kind of reward program you're on?
Most you've also earned would also appreciated.

I have used Nedbank Greenbacks for a few Mango flights for me. I would say in the last 2 years its been worth +/- R7000.

You mean monthly?

In May, I got R291 cashback plus R235 worth of Discovery miles plus R87 worth of Pick n Pay smart shopper points. So total for May was R613.

Average seems to be about R300 to R350 though.

My Vitality (Health Insurance + DiscoveryCard) was a little over R10k total in 2013, or average R850/month. Most of it is from PnP, Kulula flights and Cape Union Mart discount.

Pushing business expenses through the credit card - Standard Banks' old Avios program - we've claimed about half a dozen flights. Maybe R 160k value over 6 years?

I've never really found the appeal of these rewards programs. I find far greater value in simply not having that "oh but I'll get x and y points if I do this" sitting in the back of my mind and encouraging me to make poor luxury purchase decisions. I cancelled my Woolworths store card last month for this reason.

I'm planning to cancel Vitality this month as I go to Ster Kinekor maybe once every other month, I shop at checkers, and I exercise outdoors.

I've really only put in effort into smartshopper points through PnP.

I average R150 a year LOL.

It's enough to buy a nice lot of christmas cake once prices drop after christmas :D

You dont want R300 a month for doing the things you normally do?
