Yes. The MSI board doesnt support Crossfire or SLI
 
I suppose the question is, "will you use Crossfire or SLI in the near future?" If not, why spend R400 more when you can use that money elsewhere on your system.
 
From what I can gather from reviews of both boards, the Asus is a more stable board, better build quality and a dream to overclock. The board really is targeted at the somewhat more advanced end user. On the other hand it seems like some of the reviews of the MSI board is unfavourably campared to its intel counter part, two reviewers even called it an ok budget board (this puts me off it immediately). If price is such an issue then I suppose the MSI is not a bad board but If you can afford the ASUS then that would be a better bet. I have owned MSI, Gigabute Foxcon and Asus boards and It will have to be an incredible board that makes me move away from ASUS again.

Ya go for the dual pci e, i was actually looking at some benchies yesterday and found that xfiring 2 5770's is faster than a single 5870 and about 1.5k less.
 
Yes, crossfire is faster in that setup... until the game doesnt support it very well and you're stuck using only one card. If you are looking at socket 1156, you really should not be too worried about SLI/crossfire unless you get a motherboard with a NF200 chip on it (think thats the right chip).

On a side note, I lol'd at that MSI board - take2 says its not AM3 cpu ready! Would never have guessed...
